how about your baby can read
Your Baby Can Read is an early language development method for infants and toddlers. Based on the exploration of Dr. Robert Titzer, the DVDs employ whole reading and some phonics to help little ones learn language patterns in the course of an optimal time when their brains are developing rapidly and they are intensely focused on buying language patterns.
According to Dr. Titzer, babies can learn the patterns of written language as naturally and easily when they learn the patterns associated with spoken language. Often though, babies are not exposed to enough written language because of this learning to occur. The Your Baby Can Read! system contains five DVDs which might be focused on helping babies and kids approximately five years old figure out how to read by giving them a multi-sensory experience with heavy contact with print.
I've been seeing the infomercial with the my Baby Can Read program and am very intrigued! But I'm never the kind of to just jump around the phone and order what intrigues me. I did some quick research and read up on some reviews - as well as the result is mixed.
While it's great, and proven, that the children most often have positive results, "reading" words and recognizing what these are, but then I wonder if it is actual reading or simply memorization. And even I have heard of The Hurried Child by means of David Elkin. I've never actually investigate book, but I've learned about the results/outcome of his book in a variety of courses throughout my education, K-12 and Uni.
The Your Baby Can Read program will depend on the fact that your infant uses associations to study new things. It will show them what the saying looks like, show them a picture with the word in action, and let the baby hear the sounds on the word in action at the same time. So using the feels of sight and audio, your child is getting entertained by seeing all the pieces come together.
Ever wonder why kids can learn a new language MUCH faster than you can? Their brains are just tailored for learning language much better than ours at that age group, and there's no purpose to stifle that. My kids are competent to excel in their schools because we started at such an early age, and this makes fewer problems for me in looking to help them with their homework.
I have seen the Your Baby Can Read infomercials hundreds of times, but I was anxious to apply it myself with my own toddler and pay attention to the results.
I must admit, the Early Learning Workshop DVD that include the program, which you are encouraged to look at before beginning this program together with your child, is VERY overwhelming. It is long and unless you've got a great attention span (I actually do not) you may possibly skip the DVD, read the Parents guide and just get started.
